Sunset at Troon – 10 May

One thing I’ve got to remember is that it’s so easy to get so immersed in your photography you can forget to experience what’s going on around you.

This night at Troon the colours were superb and the light was changing fast and I was jumping from one setting to another, from one view to another, trying to squeeze the most out of a good photo outing. But you’ve really got to slow down sometimes and stop; look at what’s going on around you. Charlie Waite didn’t say much  of great import at his recent Ayrshire talk, but the one thing he really got right was you need to ‘attend’ to what’s around you. It improves your experience and that also improves your shots.
