Glasgow City Council has supported artists in the creation of murals around the city centre, and today, the works of art adorning Glasgow’s walls are quite outstanding. Last Sunday we followed a tour of murals created by artists, like Smug, Rogue-One, Art Pistol and others. I now have so many questions about how they manage to produce such amazing images in often difficult places, and at the same time coping with Scottish weather.
The main enjoyment for us was just following the tour round and locating and viewing these murals……. on such a beautiful sunny day too. However Donnie, Sheila and myself were there to take photographs of course.

Taking photographs of art works has to be done a bit of thought. I didn’t want to produce a series of straight record shots ……. which would be very fine in themselves but I tried to include some other elements into the images ……. pedestrians, passing vehicles ………or otherwise crop to make the image somehow more puzzling.

I agree that taking photos of art requires thought. It’s a bit boring to take a straight on shot. Like you, I like to have some people in the frame … at the very least, it gives context and scale. Great shots.
