Abstract from Reality
I’m starting here a short series of images all taken on the same day. I came across these trees in the sun. The trees were quite unusual to me in that the bark was silver, almost white, and very smooth.
I took all the images hand-held with a longish shutter speeds (between 1/2sec and 1/8sec) and moved the camera upwards during the exposure. It’s nothing new and not really that clever but I find some interesting effects occur.
Some photographers give this ‘technique’ a fancy name or assign a cool acronym, but it’s just moving the camera.
But taking these trees from even just slightly different angles, I find has produced different reactions in my mind. This one gets titled ‘Barrier’ – it seems impenetrable.
I don’t know if you have any other thoughts.
I’ll put some more of these images here soon
