We start the year with snow and ice….. and sunshine. Not too much snow but we’re lucky that we rarely gets loads of the white stuff. It’s hard to believe that these trees will again become alive, covered with leaves come the spring.

I’m in the middle of reading Ali Smith’s novel ‘Winter’. How appropriate!!! I didn’t really plan it that way, but it just comes after ‘Autumn’, and I’ll eventually read her ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’.
In an early part of the book she offers the idea that-
“That’s what winter is: an exercise in remembering how to still yourself then how to come pliantly back to life again”
Ali Smith ‘Winter’

Hi James, These are beautiful winter images. I love the ice patterns on your windscreen and the black and white especially. 🙂

Lovely images JB! I wish we had that kind of snow in South Of France…

Thanks! The snow is ideal for the grandkids. Their school holiday has been extended due to Covid situation, so they’ve had great fun tobogganing and playing with the snow. The snow has its downsides too though.
