Sea Calming

Lens-Artist Challenge #267 – Recharge

Thanks to Egidio for setting this week’s photo challenge. Egidio takes us out into the wild places of the US with his marvellous images illustrating the environments that recharge his batteries.

For myself nothing helps me reset more consistently than a trip down to the sea – just down to the Firth of Clyde. This involves a 20-30 minute drive depending on my chosen spot.

There’s something about the sea and its wide sky for putting everything in perspective. It’s so vast, so changeable. It could be really calm or could be wild – it doesn’t matter. Wind and waves slaves to weather powered by the sun, tides pulled by the moon. How can it not put you back into place?

Watching the moods of sea and sky.

Spotting the wildlife, the freedom of flight

Consider the ancient rocks

Nothing better ……..Thanks again to Egidio. If you’d like to see his excellent post you can get to it by clicking the link HERE.

Hope you enjoy my images for this week!

  1. Truth, nothing better than the ocean. It is always changing and always a great place for a deep breath and contemplation. It is fun to sit on a rocky coast and watch the waves move around them with the change in tides, and that in itself offers more exploration. I think the photo of the waves with the homes in the back was a favorite. Well done, James. Always a pleasure
