I was lucky to be able to attend the final event for the Lloyds Cyclo-cross National Trophy Series of 2025-26.
Cyclo-cross is cycle racing over rough terrain with steep hills, twisting tracks and tough sections where the riders must dismount and carry their bikes. In this particular event there was even a section that required riders to cross a section of sand on the beach. Races are held for different classes for men, women, kids, with different age ranges.

So here I am, back on-line again after a short illness – also recovered from the Euros!! – and things are about the same as they were before – feels restrictive despite recent changes. And so I’m grateful for Anne Saddler setting the Lens-Artists Challenge this week and her chosen topic, Black & White, is a favourite of mine. A subject I can get my teeth into.

I wish you all peace, prosperity and good health for the coming year. While the last year has been hard, I’m very clear that others have had a truly dreadful time and I feel I’ve been very lucky.

Read more – more imagesDuring our first lockdown back in the spring, the sun shone for weeks on end. Beautiful weather! It really took the edge off those difficult times. We could always get out for a quiet walk or tend to our small garden. In this our second lockdown — well, it’s November in Scotland — we’ve just had the wettest October for decades – and the clouds are still gathering.
