Looking Up, Looking Down

The world looks a bit different depending on your viewpoint. In taking photographs I’ve always been encouraged to shoot from various angles as a slight change can substantially alter and perhaps improve the resulting photograph…. especially true when using a wide angle lens. And we know sometimes we should get down on our knees to take a photo, but then, for me, it seems to be getting harder to get back up again.

So for this challenge, I want to go for the extremes of Looking Up, and Looking Down, to show the effects of what you can capture at these angles and get a different perspective on our view of the world.

Hands and Feet

Using the excuse of Sandy’s Friendly Friday Photo Challenge, I’ve put this post together using some sports images. The subject of the challenge is ‘Hands and Feet’ and hands and feet are used in so many sports, but here they are all from long distance races. I have great admiration for anyone who enters these type of races, often overcoming personal challenges – something I could never do myself.

I’ve been lucky to have opportunities for sports action over the years. I don’t know if I’ll be doing so much sports photography in future – I have ideas of making changes – so I thought I’d put together some of my better action images to date.
